What Will My Life Be Like in Three Years?

Daily writing prompt
What will your life be like in three years?

Three years from now, I imagine my life will look both familiar and refreshingly new, a blend of continued passions and exciting progress. With graduate school under my belt, I see myself not just as a Higher Education professional but as an advocate for student success, well-versed in the inner workings of academic administration. Balancing this with my love for creative projects, here’s a glimpse into what life might be like in 2027.

1. A Thriving Career in Higher Education

By then, I’ll have earned my graduate degree in Higher Education Administration, and I hope to have deepened my impact at work. Whether still supporting the School of Business or transitioning to a new position that combines my administrative skills with my communication expertise, I plan to be an integral part of a team that truly values student and faculty success. I’ll still be strategizing for social media, crafting content that resonates, and connecting with students in ways that help them thrive. Ideally, I’ll be leading some of these projects, with a voice in decision-making and a deeper understanding of higher ed’s ever-evolving landscape.

2. A Strong Personal Brand in Content Creation

Outside my primary job, I see myself with an established online presence, especially through blog writing and content creation. Working freelance will have given me the chance to collaborate with different brands, hone my storytelling voice, and share my journey authentically. I envision a thriving LinkedIn presence (hopefully with fewer “resume service” messages!), a blog that dives into the intersections of communication, education, and career growth, and maybe even a few bylines in publications that spotlight topics I’m passionate about.

3. A Healthier, Stronger Me

With three more years of focusing on my health, I hope to have reached a place where my journey with POTS feels more manageable. Continuing to balance my fitness routine, improve my diet (yes, carbs and cheese will still make an appearance!), and maintain a consistent weight, I aim to feel stronger and more in control. Zepbound has been a big part of my progress, so I’ll continue to work with my healthcare team to make sure I’m in the best shape possible, both mentally and physically. I can picture the spin bike finally being a regular part of my routine—and maybe a few new fitness goals along the way!

4. A Sense of Balance and Newfound Passions

I hope three years will bring a rhythm that feels balanced and fulfilling. With my career path aligned and my creative projects thriving, I want to leave room for travel, new experiences, and quality time with family and friends. Whether it’s a beachside retreat or simply reconnecting with nature, I want to make time for relaxation, exploration, and joy.

In three years, I see a future that’s ambitious yet grounded. The drive to grow professionally, my passion for creating meaningful content, and my commitment to personal wellness will be at the heart of my journey. I may not know every twist and turn along the way, but I’m certain that my dedication and love for what I do will guide me forward. Here’s to a future filled with growth, connection, and purpose!
