My Top 10 Favorite Movies

Daily writing prompt
What are your top ten favorite movies?

There’s a few common themes here. One being escaping to an imaginary world and the other being romance. If you haven’t seen any of these, make sure to watch them and then come back and let me know how you liked it!

  1. LOL– You probably haven’t heard of this one. It stars Miley Cyrus and Douglas Booth. “LOL is the story of Lola (Miley Cyrus), a Chicago teen navigating the daily dramas of high school. Lola, who goes by Lol, has just called it quits with her cheating ex but quickly begins to question whether her feelings for male best friend Kyle (Douglas Booth) are more than platonic.”
  2. Coraline– I even have a tattoo for this one. It’s the quote, “You probably think this world is a dream come true, but you’re wrong.” “While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door, behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better.”
  3. Peter Pan– This movie has stuck with me since I was a little kid. It was made in 1953! Can you believe it!? I have a tattoo for this one too. It’s the two stars. “In PETER PAN, three London siblings, Wendy (Kathryn Beaumont), Michael (Tommy Luske), and John Darling (Paul Collins) meet Peter Pan (Bobby Driscoll), a hero from their bedtime stories who flies in through their nursery window. He sprinkles them with fairy dust and they set off to a magical place called Neverland.”
  4. The Twilight Saga– Typical late 20’s girl movie, but I loved the books in middle school and still enjoy it today. “The film stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as Bella Swan, a teenage girl, and Edward Cullen, a vampire, and focuses on the development of Bella and Edward’s relationship and the subsequent efforts of Edward and his family to keep Bella safe from another coven of vampires.”
  5. Alice in Wonderland– Another Disney movie thats stuck with me since childhood. I love the wonder of a different world. This was made in 1951. “Lewis Carroll’s beloved fantasy tale is brought to life in this Disney animated classic. When Alice (Kathryn Beaumont), a restless young British girl, falls down a rabbit hole, she enters a magical world.”
  6. Ratatouille– A fun animated movie. “A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant. A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant.
  7. The Harry Potter Series– No surprises here. I bet a lot of people are saying this one. “An orphaned boy enrolls in a school of wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world. On his eleventh birthday, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) discovers that he is no ordinary boy.”
  8. After Series– A teen romance- cant beat them. “The film stars Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin and follows an inexperienced teenage girl who begins to romance a mysterious student during her first months of college.”
  9. To all the Boys I’ve Loved Before Series– Another teen romance. “Lara Jean Covey writes letters to all of her past loves, the letters are meant for her eyes only. Until one day when all the love letters are sent out to her previous loves. Her life is soon thrown into chaos when her foregoing loves confront her one by one.”
  10. She’s the Man– I’m not much of a comedy person, but I do find this one funny. “Viola Johnson (Amanda Bynes) is in a real jam. Complications threaten her scheme to pose as her twin brother, Sebastian, and take his place at a new boarding school. She falls in love with her handsome roommate, Duke, who loves beautiful Olivia, who has fallen for Sebastian!”
