I’ve been to quite a few estheticians in my day, and I have to say, it doesn’t matter how good you are at your job if you have zero personality. I mean, who wants to sit there with their legs spread to a complete stranger during a Brazilian in silence!? The same goes for an hour-long lash lift and tint. I mean, maybe some people like to relax in silence for an hour, but I don’t find lash lifts to be relaxing like a silent massage is.

I went to Jo for my first ever Brazilian, and I was so nervous, but Jo made me super comfortable. She turned around for me to undress (which was super polite and made me feel more secure even though she was about to be right up close to my hooha anyway). Once I got on the table and “butterflied” to the world, Jo kept me feeling calm and comfortable. She explained what she was doing while also filling in what would be awkward silence with chitchat. The waxing wasn’t even that painful. (And just an FYI- the first one is the worst, so if you make it through that, you’re golden for the rest!) I never went back to shaving after that first visit. Now, I buy her packages (Buy 5 get 1 free) for Brazilians.

Because Jo is so incredible, I looked into her other services. I wanted to try the eyelash lift and tint, but I have super sensitive eyes. I talked to her about it while getting one of my next Brazilians (Keep talking, it makes it less awkward, I swear!), and she told me all about the process and how it’s fine for sensitive eyes because nothing should actually be going in your eyes.

The next time I booked my Brazilian, I also booked the eyelash lift and tint and an eyebrow tint. I was shocked at the results. It looked like I had fake lashes on, but it was all my own. And my eyebrows looked like they were professionally filled in.

Because Jo is amazing both at filling in awkward silences and her job as an esthetician, I looked into even more services and now I’m there for my monthly appointment for almost an hour and a half, and it’s something I look forward to. I find it super relaxing, and I love my monthly catch ups with Jo.

My previous appointment was a Brazilian, stomach strip, lash lift and tint, eyebrow wax, eyebrow tinting, and underarm wax (She also offers buy 5 get 1 free for underarms). Sometimes I’ll add in a lip wax or an inner thigh strip depending on what I need. I also do full legs with her every time I’m going away on a vacation.

Waxing is so much better than shaving. I found immediately that I had way less irritation, and I said goodbye to razor bumps. And I promise you, the butt strip will change your life.
